Lush Review : 2017 Christmas Exclusives

Image
I Have concluded that some of my bath bombs are on strike and have decided to not work properly.  Golden Slumbers Bath Bomb   Golden Slumbers is exactly what its name says that it is. It is a gold coloured bath bomb, full of lavender oil, lavender absolute, chamomile oil and neroli. This concoction will life your mood right before making you want to doze off in your nice, warm bath. The Golden Slumbers bath bomb smells amazingly natural, and the scent persists throughout the dissolving and throughout your bath. It even stays on your skin after you exit your bath. Although the lavender is quite strong, the chamomile oil adds a hint of sweetness. When this bath bomb first hits, it starts to begin to dissolve immediately. Although Golden Slumbers is meant to spread foam across the surface, my bath bomb sank to the bath and started fizzing out at the bottom of the bath. This did not affect the consistency of it dissolving. Meaning, it dissolved properly ...

Lush Review : Experimenter Bath Bomb

Image
This one may have been a bad bomb. The Experimenter bath bomb is one of the most talked about bath bomb on my social media, followed by the Intergalactic bath bomb. After seeing all the hype about it I just HAD to try it, but ,I must say, I was semi disappointed. The exterior of this design will catch anyone's eye with its multicoloured facet and it's hexagon shape. These bright colours are - I guess- meant to indicate the bright coloured streak of water that will cover the surface of your bathtub once The Experimenter starts to dissolve. However, when it came to using my own Experimenter bath bomb, I found that the colours were not as vibrant as I had seen in other reviews. Instead, I got a few bright (ish) colours that immediately swirled together to create a murky grey colour. Was it just my bath bomb that did this or is it the intended outcome? I do have a hunch that mine dissolved rather quickly; therefore, ruining the slow effect of the colours streaming acro...

Lush Review : Yellow Submarine bath bomb

Image
"We all live in a yellow submarine. Yellow submarine, yellow submarine" Now that I have inserted The Beatles in this review, I can proceed to the actual blog post. Today , as you can see from the title, I am going to review the bath bomb called Yellow Submarine by Lush. I had an idea of the what this bath bomb would look like as the lovely sales assistant at Lush Oxford Street had shown me and my friend a demonstration. As the Yellow Submarine bath bomb comes into contact with the water it creates a thick layer of foam of yellow and pink (the design's colours). It floats for a short time, travelling across the water, before turning over as if sinking. Yellow Submarine continues to release foam, mixing the colours in the water to create a rich rusty orange. The Yellow Submarine bath bomb is made from a mixture of orange, coriander and lemongrass. You would expect it to have a rich citrusy smell. However, the combination of the ingredients create...

Lush Review : Cheer up Buttercup bath bomb

Image
I saved this bath bomb for when I truly needed it the most. For the past few weeks I have been surviving my life instead of living it. Every day I went to work then I came home to  sleep. My mood was constantly bad. For a few days, I thought that I'd have a relapse and break my 34 days streak of not pulling my hair out. But I did relapse. It was only one hair but it broke my streak, and snapped me out of it. I needed to take a break, so I took a day off. Screw the money when my mental health is suffering. On this day off, I finally made use of my Cheer Up Buttercup bath bomb from Lush. The Cheer Up Buttercup is yellow in colour and it displays a few Blue Cornflower petals that float around when this bath bomb is dissolved. I love that they used yellow as a main colour for this bath bomb because yellow really is a happy colour that can cheer you up. If that's not enough to cheer you up, once dissolving the yellow layer of the bath bomb, the pink layer on the...

Lush review : 2017 Halloween Exclusives

Image
Hello, welcome to another review that I am posting way too late; thus, it is not fulfilling its purpose on showing you wonderful products that you can buy :) Why do I always get the bad bath bombs? Ectoplasm jelly bath bomb is part of the Halloween range that Lush brought out this year. Unfortunately, I think these are not on sale anymore. However, I am still going to tell you a little bit about it. First thing's first, I love the design of this bath bomb. The larger part of it is a lovely dark purple; however, it has cream round shapes. There is one round shape that is actually a ghost. I think that this makes the bath bomb fit the Halloween and spooky theme. Obviously, the name Ectoplasm also gives this bath bomb a fitting theme for Halloween. The scent held by the Ectoplasm jelly bath bomb is a blend of Grapefruit Oil, Litsea Cubeba Oil, and Tangerine Oil. However, although you expect a very fruity, as soon as I smelled the aroma around me I was reminded of ...

Lush Review : Lava Lamp Bath Bomb

Image
Hey ! It has been a while since I posted a Lush review but here I am, back to spending my salary on a Lush Haul. Today, I want to talk about this orange ball of amazing-ness : The Lava Lamp Bath Bomb. Now, I'm going to be real with you I love this bath bomb because orange and purple are my two top favourite colours so I was very excited when picking this up in the Lush store. This orange sphere has 3 purple spots which are actually bath melts ! Basically, this lovely bath bomb is loaded with nutrients for your skin. Lava Lamp is made from a mixture of citrus oils including tangerine oil, mandarin oils and orange flower absolute. This concoction gives Lava Lamp a highly fruity scent which is super refreshing. This bath bomb dissolves rather quickly as it shoots out rays of orange across your water and turning the bath water....wait for it.....ORANGE ! A beautiful bright orange which gets stained with streams of purple oil from the 3 purple spots. As these 3...

2017 Summer Beauty Essentials

Image
Hey ! This summer has been a mess. Trying to juggle work with a social life when I mostly work evenings has been a total nightmare. However, Between the late hours at work, long hours of sleep, and minimal energy to do anything productive, I have ended up having a few staples in the beauty department. Boots Body Spray. These yummy scented body sprays have helped me so much in this heat. Just one (or a few) quick spritz and that nasty subtle smell of sweat is gone. POOF ! I have these in 3 scents : Vanilla, Mango, and Strawberry (listed in order of preference). I discovered these beauties back in May when I was in London, and when I went back to London in July I bought a few more. My friends had also asked me to buy some for them as they have ended up using mine when they are around. Soap and Glory Dry Shampoo. I have never relied so much on a product. With temperatures soaring up to 40 degrees Celsius, the oils from my hair have just been pouring out. A...

Review : Dinki Belle Nail Wraps

Image
Hey ! As a girl one of my biggest problems is chipped nail polish hours after applying it. So I normally have chipped nail polish any time I have nail polish. This little problem is why I decided to purchase 2 sets of Dinki Belle Nail Wraps. Nail Wraps are basically stickers that make your nails look fabulous. As I mentioned before I got 2 sets : Blue Haze , and Candy Girl. These products come in a small package that easily fits through your letterbox (wherever you may live because DinkiBelle ship internatationally). In my package there were 20 nail wraps in 10 different sizes, so I can rock out each design twice ! They are quite easily to apply as you literally simply have to apply the nail wrap to your finger, then smoothing out the wrinkles and file off any excess.  Obviously there are a few more tiny steps which are written on the back of the package. These nail wraps are waterproof as soon as you apply them. SO you can shower and go swimming with...

Review : Inkbox Tattoo

Image
Hey ! Before we begin I want to take you back to 2012. January 6 th 2012 was the day I discovered One Direction. The reason I am telling you this is because the boys of One Direction have a small number of tattoos. One of them happens to be on Louis Tomlinson's skin, which I had sworn to get inked into my skin. But as I grew older (and a tad wiser) I realized that I shouldn't get it as it looks rather childish. Now, as I was curiously browsing through Inkbox's selection of temporary tattoos I spotted a tattoo similar to that of Louis's so ,obviously, I got it. I, also, got a Raven tattoo from their The Mummy Collection for my friend. SO....here is my review of the Inkbox Temporary Tattoo "Papel". In other words, a paper airplane. This little beauty cost me $21 USD without postage and delivery, and since it's outside the EU I had to pay about 9euro to the deliveryman for VAT. The box it comes in is black with this really cool design...
