Unboxing : Owl Crate May 2018

Image
I am going to be very honest with you - I was not totally impressed with this box. In May of 2018, Owl Crate released a crate themed Fight Like A girl. Items in this crate were included in order to show that you have to be careful when you say "You fight like a girl" because you may end up battling Inej Ghafa and trust me when I say that that isn't going to end well. Speaking of Inej, a print of her is included in this box. The illustration of her is near perfect (I never imagined Inej with a crooked nose). However, from the dark clouds behind her, that represent Ketterdam to the crouched position that symbolises that she is Kaz's Spider that is an excellent spy, all the elements in this print are perfect. Out of Print have teamed up with Owl Crate to bring to life an enamel pin inspired by Hermione Granger. The pin is only small but I think that it will stand out amongst other pins due to its gold outline and detail. This item is one of those...

Unboxing : April 2018 Owlcrate

Hello there, my lovelies! It has been such a long time since I had posted on this blog. I had announced my break from my blog back in December/January, and I honestly really needed the break from it all. A lot of people come into blogging thinking that it is an easy job; however, anyone who takes it seriously knows all the hard work that goes into every post. I am not going to sit here and say that I take blogging as seriously as other bloggers, but the amount of effort that I do put into it just becomes too much sometimes. With that said, the summer holidays are here so I have some more extra time to write and put myself into blogging. That is why I am back today with a post. Today's post is all about Owl Crate. I have shared my love for Owl Crate before and at one point I had decided that I wouldn't be doing a review of every box that I get. However, in the past few months I had gotten two boxes that I just have to share. If you have read past posts on this blog then...

Book Review : What's a girl gotta do? by Holly Bourne

Image
This book is both entertaining and educational. Before I get into this review I want to warn all of you that this blog post is not for people who turn their noses up at Feminism. And I do not mean that Extremist, men-hating feminism. This post is going to talk about the equality of both males and females. If you’re not into that, then click the ‘X’, or you could be a better person by reading this review, then reading the book and educating yourself. About the Trilogy The Spinster Club trilogy is a set of books that brings together the drama of teenage years, the reality of society, and fiction. Each book follows Evie, Amber and Lottie on their individual adventures, but highlights the support given by friends. The first book Am I Normal Yet? follows Evie on her journey of controlling her OCD, whilst How Hard Can Love Be? Is a story about how Amber found love for the first time.   What’s A Girl Gotta Do?  book is the third book in the Spinster Club...

Book review : Carry On by Rainbow Rowell

Image
Give me the homosexual stories! ( I am not weird, okay? I just love stories between same-sex individuals) Ok, Maybe I am weird.   Carry on is a magical novel written by Rainbow Rowell. Carry On narrates the story of Simon and Baz, and their friends; characters originally found in Rowell's novel 'Fangirl'. Each chapter is in a different character's point of view,  narrating in the first person. If you've read Fangirl then you would know that there are 2 mentioned couples; one in the original Gemma T. Leslie - Simon Snow series and the second couple stems from the imagination of Cath and portrayed in her fanfiction. A debate that I have come across is that Carry On has multiple aspects from Harry Potter, and although I used to disagree upon reading it again, I have to agree that many things are similar to the Harry Potter series. However, although the core element of certain characters seem to be as in Harry Potter, (e.g The Mage and Simon...

Christmas Wish List 2017

Image
Christmas wish lists are something that should be started  at the beginning of each year. Hands up if you spend the whole year wanting something, then forgetting every single thing when people ask you "What do you want for Christmas?" Don't worry, you're not alone. It happens to all of us. This year I have planned my Christmas Wish List from the day one of 2017 by saving all of the links of products that had caught my attention. Many things that I had saved, I have bought for myself. Other things are still waiting to be added to the cart. Holly Bourne Book : It Only Happens In The Movies This year I have fallen in love with the writing of Holly Bourne. After reading her trilogy of Evie, Amber and Lottie, I was delighted that she has a new book released. I know that it will be filled with witty characters and laughter and a whole lot of feels. Niall Horan 'Flicker' Do I need to explain this one? I ALWAYS will support bae. "See ...

Book Review : The Savage Song

Image
Hey ! The Savage Song by Victoria E. Schwab is the first book from a duology, and a beautifully written Fantasy book based in a world not too different from ours. In fact it is our world but when monsters start to roam the planet freely and not remain in hiding like in other stories. Everyone in Verity is aware of the existence of monsters and it is their fault if they are attacked while walking in dark places. The story we read occurs twelve years after an event called The Phenomenon in V-City. When I posted a photo of this book on Instagram, I captioned it " The human wishes to act like a monster; The monster wishes to act human..." I think that this caption summarizes our two main characters : Kate and August. Kate Harker is the daughter of Callum Harker, the most powerful man in the city. August Flynn is the son of Henry Flynn, Harker's enemy. Both of their fathers are 'leaders' of different parts of Verity : Callum Harker leads the North Si...

Death's that I can't get over : Book version.

Image
Hey ! If you remember, I had posted a blog about Deaths that I can't get over: TV Show version . Since then I have been thinking , when a book fictional character dies, for some reason, it hurts more than when you watch it on screen. And in honour of that pain, I have written Deaths that I can't get over : Book version. WARNING : SPOILERS AHEAD. * * * Fred Weasley (Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows) This is the most recent death that I have witnessed, and yet I know that this death will haunt me for the rest of my life. Fred Weasley was a good humoured man with great ambition to make the world a less serious place. Even at times of grave danger he and his brother attempted to cause a smile. AND BELLATRIX WILL FOREVER BE MY ENEMY FOR TAKING HIM AWAY FROM ME ! It was the most heartbreaking death in all of the series ! Augustus Waters (The Fault in our Stars) It has been a few years since I've read the book AND I STILL CRY ...
